Edmunds.com, the automotive consumer information company, has publicized their analysis of the government’s Cash For Clunkers program and it’s not pretty. According to Edmund’s, the government spent $24,000 of taxpayer money per car (when you subtract the cars that would have been sold regardless of the program) and 80% of the cars purchased through the program would have been sold regardless of the program. In other words, only 20% of the cars that the Obama administration claimed were a product of the Cash For Clunkers program were due to the government incentives.
Once again this proves that government interference in the private sector does one thing and one thing only, cost the taxpayers money.

The Democratic Party “support organization “ACORN has been mired in scandal for months even years with accusations of voter fraud, tax evasion, and the misuse of tax payer money. Under the veil of a “non-profit” organization, ACORN has broken any number of rules, regulations and guidelines that non-profits and for-profits alike must follow.
Recently Congress voted to suspend, not end, federal monetary support of ACORN, an act of solidarity among both parties, but in the end just an act. The Democratic Party has nurtured ACORN for quite some time and the results have payed off. Voter fraud (in favor of the DNC), the rallying of unions and minorities to the Democratic party through partisan classes, lectures and programs aimed to persuade uneducated potential voters to vote for the asses. Much of ACORN’s funding, if not most, was not suspended, only non-profits wit the ACORN name lost funding, while all the subsidiary and DBA’s still got the dollars they wanted.
Now, on Saturday all of the funding that has been withheld could once again flow into the corrupt ban accounts of ACORN. Yet another small problem that Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D- California) and Senator Harry Reid (D-Nevada) have chosen not to mention. Byron York wrote in Tuesday’s Washington Post that “When the congressional defunding of ACORN went into effect on October 1, there was a continuing resolution in place that would last until October 31 — this Saturday. The ACORN ban was in that resolution, so it will also expire on Saturday.” He went on to point out that the ACORN defunding resolution language can simply not be included in the new resolution. ( Congress works by writing continuing resolutions several times a year.)
So, if Democrats think no one will notice, with all the talk of Government health care and all of their other unconstitutional blunders in the forefront, they can simply remove the defunding language and POOF! we the tax payers will once again be paying for ACORN’s garbage tactics and partisan goals.

There are a great deal of pundits, pundits masquerading as journalists, partisans masquerading as journalists and downright open partisans blabbering about the invalidity of Fox News and of their popularity. So, let’s look at the claims that (1) Fox News is not the #1 cable news channel and (2) that the other cable news channels (“PMS”NBC and the Clinton News Network) are just as successful.
Here are the numbers according to a variety of sources: (links follow the data to prove its not my imagination creating these numbers)
TVnewser (non-partisan)
Numbers for Monday October 26, 2009
Total viewers (thousands) day: FNC: 1522 | CNN: 486 | MSNBC: 435 | HLN: 377
That’s right Fox News had 1,522,000 viewers Monday while it’s closest competitor of the day, CNN, had less than one third the viewership at 486,000. No competition there.
Link
How about these numbers from the left-wing beacon of ignorance The Huffington Post:
“Fox News averaged 2.25 million total viewers in prime time for the third quarter, up 2% over the previous year. That’s more than CNN (946,000, down 30%) and MSNBC (788,000, down 10%) combined.”
The article also points out that Fox News also has the Top 10 cable news shows.
Link
Even the New York Times cannot deny the dominance of Fox News and the fall of their competitors:
“CNN, which created the all-news cable network almost 30 years ago, hit a new competitive low with its prime-time programs in October, with three of its four programs between 7 and 11 p.m. finishing fourth and last among the cable news networks.”
They go on to accuse Fox News of simple opinion based reporting that CNN’s “hard news reporting” cannot compete. Yeah right, no partisan reporting on CNN. Still, they cannot ignore the dominance of Fox News’ Studio B, hard news that no one has accused of being partisan. “Its newscasts are also far ahead of CNN programs. Its 7 p.m. show, anchored by Shepard Smith, regarded as a non-ideological program, dwarfs every CNN show in prime time.”
Link
The list keeps going and going and there does not seem to be any limit to the growth of Fox News viewership. Those in the mainstream can lay blame wherever they wish but the facts are the facts, Fox is on top and its not because viewers disagree with their reporting.

Senator Harry Reid (D-Nevada) once again is playing the word game, this time with the public option and “opting out” of government ran health care. Reid has proposed what he calls a “compromise” in the public option debate, whereby States can “opt out” of the government option, leaving their citizens with private options alone. Sounds great on the surface, right? Well, here is what Reid is not telling you about the “opt out” provision, you still have to pay for it. Does the word subsidy come in mind? The State of Texas “opting out” of the public option would simply mean that the citizens of Texas could not use the public option, paying for it is another story. Reid’s “opt out” provision still requires every U.S. citizen to pay for the public option, so you get nothing for your money. Congratulations Texas, you will be subsidizing health care for free-loaders in New England and around the country. I can take a shit in a box and mark it guaranteed but all your getting is a guaranteed piece of shit, Senator Reid.

Stop the Press. Hold the phone. Al Gore is going to need a lobotomy after he reads the new survey released by the Pew Research Center which shows even less support for the Global warming conspiracy that he and his lefty cronies continue to cash in on daily.
The survey, released on Thursday, provided new insights into the ineffective and unsubstantiated claims that the earth is warming, polar bears are dying and the end is nigh, which in the end are nothing more than a means for the left to further take control of public industry, citizens lives and individual rights. The numbers and the “facts” are not adding up, a rather “inconvenient truth” for Global warming hysterics, and the public sentiment is shifting more and more.
According to the survey, which polled 1,500 American adults, 57% believe there is “solid evidence the earth is warming”, down 14% from a similar poll completed April 2008. In addition, 36% believed that this warming was called by human activity, down 11% from last years poll, and only 35% believe that global warming is a “serious problem” in contrast to the 44% who believed the same last year.
The survey showed a downward shift in opinion by Democrats, Republicans and Independents alike. Big trouble for the Global warming alarmists and yet another reason to pay no attention tot he hype and fear Gore and his ever growing chums are spewing.

Here is what happens when you do the two step with the Fed. You get screwed. Comrade Feinberg, aka Obama’s Pay Czar (that’s right, a government official that monitors and caps private organizations pay), will begin socialist task of cutting pay to the top executives of some of America’s largest companies. The magic number: 90%. Hard working executives at companies such as Citigroup, Bank of America, and AIG will have salaries capped at about 90% less than their annual earnings from the previous year. In addition, any bonuses or retirement contributions will be slashed by at least 50%.
This is big government at its finest. We (the fed) put you into this predicament by forcing you to follow our rules (see: community reinvestment act among others), then we blamed you for causing the problems, then we forced you to accept stimulus money, and now we are going to your dictate pay (because you took the money we forced you to accept) and control every decision you might make.
Ladies and Gentlemen, mark my words, this will not stop with only companies that accepted stimulus money, it will creep into every facet of large and small business in America. This is the beginning of a socialist philosophy of economics. Take control of business, take control of consumers (the public).
If Alexander Hamilton could see us now, he would understand the dangers of a strong Fed.

Every poll, from the reputable to the downright partisan, have Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nevada) in the dumpster of public opinion and early reelection polling. Reputable sources such as Rasmussen Reports have Reid down as much an average of 9 percentage points to either of the possible Republican candidates. Rasmussen polled 500 likely voters on September 14, 2009 and found that Sue Lowden (R) would win by 10% at 50% to 40% and Danny Tarkanian (R) by 7% at 50% to 43%.
The Progressive Change Committee Campaign, a crazy left wing polling and research group who works with such beacons of liberalism as the Daily Kos, polled 600 Democratic voters asking questions about Sen. Reid. When asked “Do you think Harry Reid is a strong leader or a weak leader?”, more than 51% said that he was weak. The poll showed a split in Democratic voters over the public option. Those in opposition of the public option (around 52% of all voters, many Democrat) are less likely to vote for Reid if he backs it while 34% will be less likely to back him if he does not fully support the public option.
Reid is in trouble and like any progressive politician the feelings of the people are at the bottom of his list of concerns. Senator Reid should heed the warnings of these polls and do us all a favor and quit now. The lying and dirty politics he has engaged in for years has the people of Nevada looking for someone who will represent them and get things done.
Bye Bye “Dingy” Harry.

Let’s go over the dictator-like actions and comments made by the Obama Administration in regards to Fox News. First, allow me to emphasize the gravity and ramifications of the Office of the President attacking a news organization.
When descent (which is really what the Obama administration is complaining about) is bellyached over, attacked un-apologetically, and asked to be ignored by other media outlets (to lessen exposure), America is a lesser place. The White House is so fixated on its out of touch ideology and elitist sentiment that it has no worry or concern about trampling the constitution and enjoying every moment of it. There is something terribly disturbing about the President of the United States attacking a news channel for not bending over and kissing his royal ass, applauding his every breath, and reporting only that which makes his holiness look like gods gift to America and the world. This is dictator-like performance is right out of the playbooks of great socialists and fascists that realized smothering descent is the key to absolute rule.
Now onto the goodies.
Anita Dunn- “Fox News often operates almost as either as the research arm or the communications arm of the Republican Party,” “What I think is … fair to say about Fox, and certainly it’s the way we view it, is that it really is more a wing of the Republican Party,”
David Axelrod- “It’s really not news,” “It’s pushing a point of view.” “Mr. Murdoch (owner of NewsCorp) has a talent for making money, and I understand that their programming is geared toward making money.”
Rahm Emanuel- “It’s not a news organization so much as it has a perspective, and that’s a different take. And more importantly, it’s important not to have the CNN’s and the others of the world being led and following Fox, as if what they’re trying to do is a legitimate news organization.”
Robert Gibbs- ” Fox news reports many stories that are not true.”
It is also important to note that the White House has banned all interviews by the Obama administration since August and will not likely continue them until next year.
In the meantime, the White House has said that it is “at war” with Fox News because they are critical of all of Obama’s policies. Interesting, the most popular news channel, airs descent and skepticism of Washington (ie. Empowering citizens=bad, empowering government=good).
